Retail buyers are working to a fixed shelf specification: a weight band that has to hold, a trim standard that has to look the same every week, and a packing format that fits an existing line or shelf-ready presentation.

Discussions typically start with the cut, the target weight range, chilled or frozen, the packing format and the volume per week. Where a programme needs private-label packing or a customised cut, that is agreed against a written specification before first shipment.

Specification sheets for any catalogue product can be requested through the quote form. Where a value has not yet been verified for publication, the sales team supplies the current figure directly rather than the site displaying an unconfirmed number.
